Cold World: Why Our Salmon Tacos Have Been Missing

Cold World: Why Our Salmon Tacos Have Been Missing

Our salmon wonton tacos are our number one seller. But we haven’t had them in stock for over a month—and you deserve to know why. Our supplier told us they stopped buying wild-caught salmon because it had become too expensive and demand had dropped. They’re only carrying farm-raised salmon now. That left us with a decision: change what we serve or wait until we can source the salmon we want.

We chose to wait.

Wild-caught salmon is our preference for this dish. My thinking is personal: if I wouldn’t choose something for myself, I wouldn’t feel right serving it to our customers.

Know what you’re eating—and drinking

While dealing with this sourcing issue, we saw headlines about 3D-printed salmon alternatives. Food-printing technology is being used to create plant-based alternatives designed to resemble salmon.

It made us think about how much food is changing—and how important it is to understand what we’re buying.

Knowing what’s on your plate—and in your cup—matters.

At Juice N’ Go, we believe you should know what you’re putting into your body. Take our Give N’ Go: apple, orange, carrot, and ginger. Simple ingredients. Big flavor.

Whether you’re choosing a meal or grabbing a juice, you should be able to ask what’s inside and get a clear answer.

Read the ingredients. Ask questions. Stay informed.

Standing by our choices

Rising ingredient costs put pressure on small businesses. Keeping a best seller off the menu means missing sales and disappointing customers who come looking for it.

Our choice to wait for wild-caught salmon reflects what we want to serve. It isn’t a claim that every alternative is unsafe. It’s about being consistent with this dish and honest with you.

To everyone asking when the salmon wonton tacos are coming back: we hear you. We miss them too.

When we can source wild-caught salmon again, we’ll let you know.

Cold world. We’re still standing by our choices.
